A single Light Peak cable will be capable of transporting multiple types of data simultaneously such as transferring data to a hard drive, connecting to the internet and transferring video. Each end of the Light Peak cable will be connected to chips that contain light producing devices, encode data, and transmit data. The chips will also amplify data and convert the light to electrical signals.
Researchers are hopeful that silicon photonics will eventually replace copper wires on motherboards and microprocessors by making high-bandwidth connectors cheaper. The first generation of Light Peak cables will use the same type of optical chips used in telecommunication devices today. Intel will be able to drive down the cost of these chips because the manufacturing standards are less stringent.
The lasers and detectors inside the chips are not required to be high performing. The chips don’t need to transmit data over great distances as required in the telecommunication industry. Intel is currently working with other companies to form partnerships. Sony is supportive of Intel’s Light Peak technology, with more announcements coming.

Pre-CES, the gadget blogging world has an itchy trigger-finger. Embargoes are agreed to in exchange for new product info ahead of time, allowing prompt coverage of new products as they are announced.
Embargoes are a Gentleman’s Agreement, unlike NDAs (Non Disclosure Agreements) which carry some legal weight. And here’s the problem: A blog, say, CrunchGear, might decide to run a story early to get the scoop. As it may have done with the new Palm Nova device.
Described by “a trusted source” (Palm PR flack, perhaps?), the new phone is an iPhone with a keyboard, a portrait-format touchscreen device with a slide-out QWERTY. Running the whole show is the hot new Nova OS, which is being described as “amazing”. We’ll see if Nova is super enough to rescue the ailing Palm. That’s the thing with touch screen phones. The software just has to be awesome.

The mid to high range frequencies produced by the K-Box is done so through a traditional speaker built into its case. Giving it even more convenience when travelling with it, the K-Box is integrated with a rechargable battery which offers music for up to 20 hours. The speaker can be easily recharged through any available USB port.
As long as a device has a headphone jack it can be plugged into the K-Box. This makes the speaker a great solution for portable music and video players. Naturally, the speaker’s ability to recharge through a USB port makes it a natural for use with a laptop computer if you want to get rich, deep bass sound that is not typically offered through built-in laptop speakers.
The K-Box easily fits into the palm of your hand and has some nice rubber grips which surrounds the four sides of the speaker. You can’t help, but notice the special gel on the bottom of the speaker when you first pick it up. It’s probably the first real indication to anyone picking it up that it offers something which is really unique.
The K-Box retails for US$74.50 and ships with two cables including a male-to-male headphone jack cable and a USB charging cable. Also included, is a sturdy fabric case to protect the speaker while carrying it in a bag. That’s not a bad idea since I’m sure the gel’s ability to transfer vibrations will degrade as the bottom of the speaker becomes dirtier.

Hello friends , hope all are fine. Here i am going to tell about the great USB drive that’s perfect for those that have a tendency to lose their USB drive With flash drives being so small and only getting smaller. Yesterday , i went for a long search to find some USB gadget. Most of the USB which were i saw simple only. Surprisingly i fount this Grid Tag USB drives. It’s understandable that some people lose theirs on occasion. Even those that are great about keeping track of their things, have their hectic days where the little things turn up missing. With these USB drives, they’d stay attached to your book bag or belt and it’d never again be far from where you need it.

They’re even brightly colored to accommodate those that don’t want to be stuck with boring gray or black USB drives. The Grid Tags would be especially great for younger student that have just started using a flash drive. That first while when you’re trying to get used to having a USB drive around is usually when they get lost the absolute most. The Grid Tag USB Drives come in 1GB which is about $50 and 2GB which will cost you $70. Unfortunately these are being sold in Japan, so for those or us in the rest of the world, they will be hard to get our hands on.

Considering the fragile state of the economy these days, it is probably good to start saving money. Sure, you could use an old-fashioned piggy bank, but technology always gives us an electrical alternative.
This is where the Robot Money Box comes in. When you put money in the bank, it can actually keep track of how much you put in. I’m not certain how it does this. I doubt it has advanced sensors or anything. Perhaps it can some how count as you put it your coins or dollars in.
Another feature that makes the Robot Money box different from your average piggy bank is that it praises you for saving money. Not only that , but you can make target goals for saving, and it will encourage you for making them.
There is one other feature that my source and the product pages are very vague about. Appearently, the Robot Money Box “may even try to stop you if you try to take anything out”.
To purchase the Robot Money Box at the Gadgets.co.uk site for about $24.95.
